This (beautiful!) redband rainbow was caught west of the cascade crest in western Washington. I thought they were only found in the Columbia and McCloud river basins. Any thoughts on how they ended up this far west?

  1. Redbands are native sub-species and mostly found in Eastern Wa. But, occasionally they ride the bus over I90 into coastal Pacific areas.

  2. I’m no expert but the red bands I’ve caught had a lot more color in the cheeks. That is quite a vibrant stripe for a normal rainbow though.
