I currently have 10 lb fluorocarbon on my budget reel and I want to replace that with braid line. I've never used braid line before and since it has virtually no memory. I want to have it for my nephew that's learning to fish for bass, trout and maybe crappie. I have this Shimano FX2500HGFC. Braid capacity says it supports 10, 15, 30lb braid and I don't understand the equivalent to mono.

15 or 20#braid will be small enough for trout and crappie, but have enough strength to handle most bass a young human will catch
