Put up a really good fight. I caught it on the other side of the head of a pool and it immediately went deep and wanted to stay there. Fishy knows what ifs doing….knowing it’d break off with 5x in the deep current I tried to move it closer to me in the soft water.
Fish freaks out and starts making runs downstream. I almost walked it but I tried that once, lost tension on the fly is it’s gone. So we chilled longer while I let it run and brought it back in a few times.
Fishy then sees the bushes and busts towards the bank tried to get my line tangled. He almost had me there, managed to get him back in the soft water and he was begging to tire now.
Brought him into the net and the fly popped off on its own. It was good to know I fought it was and it wasn’t so well hooked that I could just do whatever.
Nice size fish for this water too. Loved the fight as well.
