Over the weekend I stayed in Cape May NJ. Decided to do some fishing from deck attached to house in Delaware based. I used a 7 foot surf rod, double drop rig, and squid for bait. Water seemed very shallow and I was only catching very small fish and 1 bigger flounder. An hour before sundown something grabbed my bait and almost snapped my rod in 1/2. I fought it for while before it pulled the hook loose from the rig and got away. What could put up that much of a fight based on small hook/rig in shallow water?
