We camped 40 miles down on Padre Island National Seashore over Columbus Day weekend. No one around us for miles at night.
Caught three 24”-30” blacktip sharks on cut ladyfish; returned them to the water to grow big for another day. Some mullet and Ladyfish in the surf, but not the big schools like there should be this time of year. We were hoping for some Bull Redfish, but I guess it is too early in the year.
We paddled out some whole Ladyfish baits 400-500yds offshore at dusk, but had no runs. Both lines snapped at some point; I’m just gonna assume it was because a 10’ shark hit them and snapped line.
