Decided to start fishing last week. Bought a new rod and reel and thought I’d give it a try and test it out a bit. Ten casts in and caught the largest bass of my life. I was super excited. But the best part was a sweet little old lady scurried over to me and asked if she could have my fish as I was about to release it. She told me her and her husband were there all day trying to catch their dinner for the night. What a great feeling that was knowing I was able to provide for others. I never thought about that part of fishing before. Easy to say I’m hooked now!

Great fish but please don’t use pliers to hold fish by the mouth. Bass can easily be handled by hand, or they make grabbers if you’re uncomfortable holding them. Pliers can really mess up their mouth
Well done! Next time just hold the fish lip between you thumb and index finger. Or get a set of those jaw grabbers. Needle nose pliers are likely to damage the fish’s lip.
