Big no brain guy over here. Pulled the trigger and went and got my own outfit as a birthday gift to myself. Went to a small fishing shop for a better experience. Came in there looking for a St. Croix Triumph, Ugly Stik elite, and or a Fenwick Eagle. I had a Shimano Sahara in mind for a reel. Anyways, guy told me he had none or were too much for a start. Had some Okuma Ceymar (originally tried to sell me a 8”’6 said I would take a 7”) customs for the shop and said the Okuma Ceymar HD 5000 would be better for a reel. Will say it felt lighter than the Shimanos as he said felt like smoother action too. Guy was a old vet and I wanted to respect his opinion and for a fair price. Asked to reel me up with a braid to fluorocarbon. 15 LB fluoro to 20 pound braid.

Got home ready to get this thing ready and put it together. Moment I pulled that line off of the tab all of the fluoro came off. Tried to bring it back, created a giant nest. Had to cut it off and selvedge what I could for a leader. Retied leader with a Albright I learned on the fly, still fell like crazy and wouldn’t even sit on the line roller. Pulled more out thinking I was over spooled and flipped the anti reverse so I don’t go backwards. Still got extra leader left but now it looks like I have too little left for braid. What the f*ck happened. Anyways thanks for reading this bull, and if you have any answers it is much appreciated.
