Much of western North Carolina may be a literal disaster but we still got fish! I saw a post here last week wondering how our fisheries will fare after Helene. Well, I can attest that at least one of our excellent fisheries still holds some lunkers, even without any delayed harvest stocking. This fish is clearly a holdover/naturalized brown from a season or two ago. From my rough net measurement, this girl is close to my PB at just over 20". I think the last stocking this stream got was in March of this year. And even though this stream didn't get the brunt of the storm, we can all rest assured that our region is still going to produce some beauties this season!
