Went to a nearby creek with no info on whether there’s fish there or not. Had lot of baby fish (later learned they were trout) nibbling on the worm but nothing that was even a decent size. Last spot I went to, had a big fish hit my worm, but then it dragged my line into a bunch of sticks/under a bank. Had to snap the line, and decided to just throw a plastic on a jig (faster retie; used a trout magnet). Almost immediately a big fish hit it, but then it shook it off. Finally, third time I got it to hit, I was able to set the hook and bring it to shore. So fun! Really loved trying to actually get the fish that I knew was in there, as opposed to just fishing whatever bites. My first trout!

Is that a brook char or brook trout? Either way, delicious fish!
