Id cut off the head of that fluke and then try and put it on a little more straight

If you put a soft plastic on there you want it to be straight with the head. The hook needs to come out a lot sooner. You are probably creating a lot of drag with it crooked.

The softbait is not threaded on the hook properly, which is likely negativity affecting the action of the lure. Look up a video on how to rig a swimbait on a jig head. The premise is the same for spinnerbaits as well.
