Hello all this single spot appeared on my betta about 48 hours ago. It has not spread and he has no other white spots on him. He has showed no signs of stress or discomfort and is still eating. I’ve read ich covers their bodies but this is just a single white spot? Kind of looks like maybe he brushed up against something and hurt himself? I was going to just treat for ich preventively but read that it’s bad if they don’t have it? I have 2 snails in the tank as well. Any advice would be so appreciated because im freaking out!!

Medicating when not needed can hurt fish, and it will kill the snails. Most medications are toxic to inverts.
I’d give him a salt bath and keep watching the spot.
