My buddy gave me his old 55gallon that sat in storage for a few years with his stand. So far I have redone the interior silicone because it was yellowed, chipping, and seemed dry rotted. I then leak tested it (put a few gallons in per day to make sure if it did leak or break it would be with the minimum water possible, until it was full and it survived 3 days full). I believe my seal job is good but now im focused on the stand. He says it came with the tank but idk it does not look ~600lb estimate strong to me

Is the wood swelled up at all? If you wanna be at ease go get some 2x4s or 2×6 and some 3-1/2″ coated screws and build a stand, use a touch to colour it up or paint it. If you want after that get some birch plywood and wrap it. Personally I’d toss the stand even if it was good, but thats just me.
