This is coming out of my betta. I’m new to caring for them and would love any help. I have tried to feed him peas which was recommended by someone but it didn’t work. What exactly is coming out of him? He also won’t swim very much anymore.

That looks like a really big stuck poop.. wait for it to fall off naturally. Try soaked daphina instead
Try to fast him for a day, might have had too much food causing some constipation.
What others said. In the future do not feed peas, bettas cannot digest plant matter as they are obligate carnivores (same as cats in that they can only digest meat).
