Thought I would share here as my success and joy can't be shared with my bone fly friends and family.

Moved to a mountainous area in my country a year ago.

Some of the best rivers in terms of remoteness. Clarity. Wild trout.

Countless attempts. Hours of research. Many scrapes and bruises later I finally landed my first wild river trout on a black gnat with my 5wt rod.

It was a brutal 6km walk to and isolated pool. 40c in the shade and there was no shade. But my burnt out quads and lobster neck is all worth it when that elusive trout roof the fly on my first cast

Clean barbless lip set. Was able to release him unharmed after an amazing fight.

Did not take a snap of the fish but here is the pool.
