Okay so Aziraphale has been severely bloated for a about a week now, and I think he has dropsy but there hasn’t been any pineconning. I figured if it was dropsy he’d be dead by now, but he’s not.
The past few days his behavior has changed. He’s lethargic, and although he can still swim and seems mildly interested in food, I can tell he’s not himself as he’s a very active fish. I started Epsom salt baths on Wednesday and have been doing 1 a day. 1TBSP per gallon (a one gallon container so 1 TBSP) 15 minutes. No improvement. Been dosing kanaplex (a small small amount on the bath and a full dose in the tank as per instructions) also no improvement. Does anyone have any idea at all what this could be, or is it just a slow acting dropsy??
Any other ideas for treatment??? I want to save him
I’ve made other posts but no one has responded. I’ve talk to a couple different fish store people and they all say I’m doing all I can, but what if I’ve misidentified the illness? Any insight is greatly appreciated
