Went to Gordon Creek in SW Wisconsin, and was under the impression that, even on private property, waters are DNR land with public access permitted. I accessed the water via an easement but there was barbed wire fencing all the way across the creek here. Wondering if I should report to DNR.

In Ontario if the water is navigable you can’t do that
This is 100% not legal in WI. As long as your feet are in the water, you can be there. I don’t want you to spot burn, but I also really want to know what river this is so I can go be angry at it. I do most of my fishing in SW Wisconsin.
Please report then come back to update. I’m guessing this is a no-no and would love to hear the follow up.
