A buddy and i rented a raft and floated the lower Deschutes, hoping to hook into some steelhead. While neither of us ended up landing one – I hooked one but it broke off – the trip was still amazing. It’s a beautiful river and the trout fishing definitely softens the blow.

It be like that, I fished 4 morning/evening sessions last weekend and only hooked into one that promptly excused itself. The only thing I had to show for it was a stolen propane fire pit.
Were you swinging for steelhead or just indicator fishing
