just kidding. I know it is. She’s had it for less than a week, 2.5 gallons with two fish and a dwarf frog. 😭 Shocker, one of the fish ATE the frog and a let and its head was floating a couple days ago. She gets mad at me when i suggest something to keep them healthy and says i’m accusing her of abusing fish😍 i’m not but she did no research at ALL
Her last fish lasted about two weeks because it was so inbred and had scale rot before she even bought it. petco, obviously.

  1. Pretty small but at least she only got 2 lol. I have 2 gold dust mollies in a 15g Walstad tank. They are happy and healthy. I wouldn’t put any more in though.

  2. This is bad husbandry. Normally the smallest aquarium for fish is 5gallon and even then you have verry little species to choose from, a single longtailed bettta is usually the best match.

Also adding fish before cycling, establishing bacteria in the filter to convert toxic fishwaste (ammonia and nitrite) into less toxic nitrate, is risky. Normally you run an aquairum for 4 weeks or longer before adding fish. Only cycle with a fish already in there if you know what you are doing.

  3. It’s perfeltly fine for just those 2 fish. Can’t really see from here, but she seems to be using his powerhead wrong, as it is going to overheat.

  4. why not help by getting her some live plants as a gift, would go a long way to help with water quality

  5. A 10gal would be way better for those 2, mollies don’t get *huge* but they are pretty big as far as live bearers go, even a 5gal would be an improvement. I’d definitely suggest adding some live plants too, I’ve had the most luck with anubias but java fern could work too, just make sure not to give it *too* much light or you’ll likely end up with algae

  6. She is accusing you of saying that she abuses fish and you denied that? Sorry, but if you can’t tell her she is abusing living beings, than you are coddling her and enabling this abuse.

I’d say it’s even worse that it looks, because it doesn’t look THAT bad comparing to what is happening

Uhh, what would have taken the head of the frog, and how small was it to begin with ? I’ve had dwarf African frogs, and never have I seen something like that, and I’ve kept them with larger fish like cichlids but not the aggressive ones . Something doesn’t sound right about this situation .Btw I kinda like the whole shark thing going on 🤣 although I would have used actual gravel .She could have chosen colored gravel since there’s lots to choose from .

  9. That poor frog, I love my african dwarf frog, he’s always making noises. I’d be pretty upset if he died. I’m sorry but atleast you are trying to help. That counts for something even if she won’t listen
