Hi there! This is JR the Betta and his bestie, Turbo the Snail. They're our class pets over here in 4th grade, and we love them desperately. But, we have a bit of a conundrum. Fall break is rapidly approaching, and we'll be out of school for a week. Normally, JR gets the weekends to fast, but I'm afraid that a whole week is too long for my little guy to last without food. I would make the trip over there if I lived closer, but it's a 30 minute drive. I had 2 ideas: either 1) take JR and Turbo home with me and put them in a tank here, or 2) get them a vacation feeder. If I go with option 2, I'll need suggestions on vacation feeders that don't over pollute the water. Thanks!!

I don’t think that a week is that long. If you feed him a bit more than you usually do before you go I think he will be fine. I currently don’t have a betta but when I had to leave for long periods of time I would just feed him a little more than I would have and he’s fine. The one time I asked a neighbor to come over and feed him because I was gone for more than one week he died 3 days later from being over fed I think. He looked like he ate a grape.
