Hey friends! I currently have a tank housing a betta, some platys, red/blue/orange neocaridinas and black nerite snails. A few weeks ago now I added some top water floaters that were “pest free” and the last few days have noticed these guys. The photos are a little garb so I apologize. But there are quite a few of these leopard-printy pointy shelled dudes. All very small as well, this is the largest one I’ve noticed and he’s no bigger than half an algae wafer. Are they snails worth leaving in the tank or removing immediately to keep my current community safe? It’s heavily planted with synthetic and real plants but I find a new one every time I look so I have no idea how many I have or if they are detrimental. 😭

  1. Definitely bladder snail. Will breed like crazy if you overfeed. Some people don’t mind them, other people consider them pests. Once you have them you’ll never get rid of them unfortunately, but they can be managed by watching how much you feed.
