Up there for one of my favorite days on the river, I caught 12-14in fish till my arms were sore, lost a couple nicer fish, and witnessed countless hatches.
I ended the day losing the top 3 quarters of my fly rod when I was bringing in a fish and it dove down right in front of me. The top 3 sections of my rod flew off because I hadn’t checked to make sure the pieces were pushed in together after hours of fishing. The fish got away and my single size 20 midge miraculously blew through all the guides without catching a single one. Super bummed because it was one of my favorite fly rods and even more bummed that it will end up another piece of trash in the river
