Context: I picked up a 7'3'' Lew's bait caster combo earlier this year off of FB market place and have been having a lot of fun using it however its too long for my car so I was looking into getting something slightly more convenient. I also recently have been looking into taking a winter trip to Florida to fish peacock bass, which would require heavier gear than what I have. Something I was looking for in a new rod would be 2 piece for ease of storage/travel and a reel that has a high enough ratio for catching harder fighting fish.
I was looking at these options:
- Abu Garcia Veritas: 6'9'' MH Fast Action 2 piece
- St Croix Premier: 6'6'' MH Fast Action 2 piece
- Abu Garcia Revo
- Daiwa Tatula
Another question I had was how important a 7 foot plus rod would be, would a 6'6'' or 6'9'' rod be sufficient?
