Caught in the Chesapeake Bay tributaries. Weakfish? Some type of trout? Anyone know what this is?

  1. Yep, sand trout or white trout where I’m from. Good eating, just need to keep them cold or they get mushy. They stay deep, so a gulf rig works wonders for them.

  2. Does your state not have regulations for saltwater fish harvesting?

    I’m coming from a place of complete ignorance, as I’ve only fished freshwater out West, so bear with me. But the idea of killing a fish without positively identifing it first just feels *heinous*.
