I’m going shark fishing and I’ve seen videos of sharks just ripping drag so I’m worried I don’t have enough braid on here. Last time when I casted out more than half of all this braid was already gone and so I was wondering how I could maybe manage to either tie more on or just take it all off and add lighter braid onto it instead. I’m currently using 40 pounds but it ran out before I could fill up my reel. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

you need a bigger reel if you want to fit more braid
You should have 480 yards on there, which is enough for just about anything except large sharks. No way you are casting 240 yards, very unlikely you are casting even 100 yards. Is there something under the braid?
Bigger reel is the only way my dude. Or smaller braid, of course.
