i love how open and bright it looks without the background but for fish comfort id say maybe keep the background so like another commenter said they just think there is a wall there and not just an exposed area

It would look SUPER cool with like a pale orange background, like a sunset coming up. I see a lot of people do that with rimless and it looks like a tank during golden hour.. almost like the effect of tannins without affecting tank visibility
