(I don't know a lot about batteries as you can probably tell but here's my explanation)
The black terminal on my (only) 4 month old 12v 50ah battery is warping when i plug it into my trolling motor. I noticed this spot yesterday, and then while fishing I smelled something burning… no visible signs of smoke but there's definetely something going on. The black clamp from the trolling motor also has noticeable burning on it. However, the red terminal appears totally untouched and brand new. I'm mostly just wondering how dangerous this is and if I need to replace the battery? Also, is there a way this could be an issue with the motor instead of the battery? Both the motor and battery were purchased at the same time last June so I don't see why either would be breaking already, but they clearly are.
It took me a while to save up to get this stuff, so I really appreciate any help.
