Question in the title.
Found that on the side of a lake near Mont-Tremblant, Canada.
I fish in the area but always with much smaller baits and from the side of the lake/river.
What I catch is too small to bite on this.
There is white water nearby where I found this.
Any idea? Thank you.

Please tell me that’s not fishing line on a stick 😭
Probably a live bait setup for pike…but who knows what someone was using it for, Ive seen people fish for bluegill with a steel leader before lol
Those are crappie rigs from my knowledge but usually has fluoro leaders on the hooks
Perch
Looks like a pompano rig.
It’s a pickerel rig. You put bait on the hooks and cast it out. The lead at the end will sink it to the bottom and the hooks with the beads keep the bait suspended just above the bottom where a lot of the fish are. It can be used to catch many species but bass, crappie, trout, and walleye, could be caught with it where you live. Put some worms, shrimp, or salmon eggs, on the hooks for bait.
Pretty sure that’s just a premade drop shot rig ?
You can get them at Walmart for a couple dollars, I use them with circle hooks for catfish
