I know a lot of people see this as a stress reaction, but when bettas aren’t exploring their tank this is just a way to get their energy out. I especially think this with short fin bettas because they are more agile and active than long fins. (Most of the time) you can always try adding more enrichment, like botanicals, drawing on the glass, or making them jump for food. Off topic but be careful with the plastic decor it can snag or cut them bc of sharp edges.
