Ice fishing for Brook Trout in the US, I would imagine it’s very similar as they’re a Char.
The big ones are smart. All that gear will spook them.
You need a lighter line with small hooks, and you’ll need to set your drag to compensate for the size.
I don’t go bigger than 4lb fluorocarbon line.
I use a small hook with a dead minnow (hook almost fully in the minnow to hide it) or a small tungsten jig with two or three wax worms.

I fish Lakers all the time, the big guys love the dead bait lying on the bottom, they will visit 4 separate times before they decide to bite.
Next time set up two lines one with a dead minnow or a cut portion of a fish you’ve caught earlier, and the other with the flasher setup to bring them in.

My season opening on april 28 is on an arctic char lake, tried to go last years and i have not been able to get onto the lake, this year i wont fail

Do you use that big flasher to draw the fish in than pull it above the bottom of the ice once you see one there?
Spearfishing!
