  1. "Stay back stay back stay back" Tax dollars at work. The guy can go wherever he likes. Its not a crime scene. If youre going to become a cop learn your laws.

  2. How sad! The way things are going in the world today, the City should have rejoiced in the fact the community found joy in what was repurposed. To just kill those fish is horrible. I pray the City provides a space for what brought joy and happiness. Fish are calming, lowers blood pressure by watching them. Shame on that City

  3. Ofcourse it needed to be removed & filled in after all it brought happiness and joy to the people of the city & no council/ goverment can tolerate their people being happy n having fun or enjoying something can they!

  4. God forbid they let the fish live elsewhere! I can only imagine they poured the cement over the other fish that was brought in after they killed the first set. The were all probably scrambling for water so that’s why they were found huddled together like that.

They don’t bother fixing anything else in the city or address REAL problems but they wasted their time on this! Shame on the city and the officials and staff that made an issue of this wholesome idea that brought a small community together. Shame on them for killing these innocent fish!

  5. Idk why but I'm cracking up over the idea that the firefighters, instead of trying to relocate the fish (and probably for the better choosing to not get animal control involved because more likely than not animal control is understaffed and overwhelmed as it is), decided they don't get paid enough for this, and worked around the fish. And trust me I have had three makeshift aquariums in my basement, five Tupperware/Rubbermaid containers, three coolers, and six buckets that held a variety of live fish purely by accident (don't ask, it's a long story). And I've had all of those containers ruined by dead fish because that smell does not come out easily without a fight when it comes to certain (read: most) materials. And now I'm laughing over the idea of walking past this hydrant and smelling nothing but dead fish for the rest of time. I mean I don't know how well that would stand for concrete, but…I like to imagine that spot is now popular with the stray cats.

But seriously there's a lot of things that are messed up about this entire situation.

  6. Of all things for the city to worry about right now and that’s what they choose to worry about. Go figure they see something that makes people happy and they destroy it

  7. First mistake was drawing attention to it. They should have kept it secret. The city hates happiness. Positive: If you need something in the city fixed promptly just create an aquarium around it. They will be there in a flash.

  8. That leak will eventually undermine the road and sidewalks and cause a sinkhole and especially with winter coming the problem is when you turn off a fire hydrant it drains down at the bottom where it connects into the water main underground if it doesn't drain because it stays on it will freeze in the pipe and break the pipe or you won't be able to get water in the winter if there's a fire

  9. People are so dumb. That was never a suitable spot for an "aquarium" in the first place. Now everybody's blaming the city for fixing what should have never been broken.

  10. Stop ruining good things by sharing them on social media. Once it went viral and the city knew about it, they'll have to fix it to avoid legal liabilities.
