How do I make this cheap pier fishing rig from Walmart respectable. Bought it on a whim a year ago and never used it. Driving back to the coast this weekend.

I know that with cheap guitar you can set it up and put good strings and play it pretty well, but you have to be good at guitar lol. Can I put decent line or something on this cheap rig and make it a respectable set up? Not expecting any magic, just wanna know how to make the best of what I already have. Thanks! Sidenote, I have a good Penn spinning combo, this is just extra. Buying my first baitcaster this weekend, pray for me. Next step, fly fishing… gonna need some voodoo for that, praying isn’t strong enough. Also, I know there’s no handle on it, that’s in my tacklebox.
