Our creeks have fallen trees hanging over the banks. I have caught a lot of fish there.

  2. Get a kayak or canoe, and fish near or under trees or any type of cover. I’d throw a rooster tail, a beetle spin with a white curly tailed grub, a dark colored fluke.

A 1/8 or 1/4 ounce inline spinner will catch any gamefish in any stream in North America

Sideways …shallow water makes you visible I like to cast down the creeks not across them

Usually just walk and throw spinners or mini cranks, either upstream or down, then use a small jig with plastic on the return trip. I dont hang around a hole for long creek fishing.

  6. No luck with lures, try live bait. Worms on a hook and bobber throw it in the shade. No fish? Move down. Panfish are everywhere usually, they will eat anything, and worms are like an open bag of Doritos. When you find the little fish, with little hooks (size 10-4) slap a whole or cut up piece of the little fish on it and fish the bottom. Rinse and repeat infinitely. TL.

  7. Creeks are actually the easiest places to fish for me. Great access from the bank. Light gear.

Use a light or ultra light setup. Use 4 or 6lb test. I use fluorocarbon to make it as invisible as I can.

Throw inline spinners if the snags aren’t too crazy. Jig small soft plastics on like a size 4 or 6 hook. Either jig it freely or jig it suspended from a bobber. I use Euro tackle stuff, but trout magnets are easy to find.

Look for deep holes with slower moving water.

If it’s legal in your state that creek don’t look too wide. Run a line form one side to the other with hooks about 1.5 feet (18”) apart and check it in the afternoons. I do it and throw the small fish back. Have done pretty well to feed my family on a 30-40 ft wide section of the river near my home
