Here’s the first two fish I’ve ever caught, got them this morning off a grub with a jig head. The fish were nibbling and biting like crazy, I could feel it but since I’m a novice I’m not exactly sure when to strike yet. I’m pretty much learning on my own and through YouTube videos, I’ll get there though. Also made the switch to braided line today and my god it’s actually a hassle free experience when casting now. And you can completely send it on braided line. Makes a huge difference.

    Great catches!

I feel you on braided line. I fished mono all growing up and was hesitant to switch. But now that I’ve switch to braid, it is so much better. Even the type of fishing you’re doing, it’s so much easier to feel those nibbles on braid versus stretchy mono line.

Are you using a leader? I typically go with a mono or fluorocarbon leader, connected to my braid using a double-uni knot. Seems to work well.
