Go Fishing With Nowakowski Outdoors šŸŽ£
Was a beautiful day to get out and go fishing! Went out to Lock 14. The bite for me was slow today but did manage to get my first one where the current runs along the overhanging brush on the spinnerbait.
Eventually moved down to under the old bridge. Was working the Rapala DT-4 in Live Bluegill when I felt weight and set the hook, but at first I thought I got a mass of weeds because there was no fight. But as I started reeling in some more, that's when the fight started! She went back and forth like crazy, almost tangling me up in a couple snags. Eventually pulled out an awesome 3lbs12oz 18.5" Bucketmouth!
Moved down to where the canal flows through a large culvert under a road. Got my 3rd one (1lb4oz, 13.25") out in the clear spot in the green mass. The 4th got from under the overhanging shrub as the lure passed.
Went back under the bridge and got the 5th of the day.
Packed up and headed out and decided to stop at Lock 13 which was on the way. When I got there, the water level there was really low, about 3'. Two feet lower than normal. Still managed to get the 6th on a spinnerbait from Nichols Lures and the 7th on a Rapala DT-4 in Live Largemouth.
Managed to clean up the trash at Lock 13 too.
Was a great day out there with beautiful weather and some nice catches, though I was hoping for more. Either way I'll take it!
