It sucks, but in a fleshy spot like this you just rip it out. Yes, it hurts. But not for long.

Took a treble hook in the forearm last year at a Walleye tournament. My buddy grabbed the pliers and asked if I was ready, I said yup yank it out. I looked away and grit my teeth a quick jerk and that barbed hook ripped out pretty painless. Blood tricked for a sec we went to weigh in like it never happened. Took big fish 8 lb fish.

I’m highly skeptical of this…did they tell you which artery you supposedly hit?? That hook is tiny. Don’t see how any injury with it could be life threatening….

This is why I crush the barbs on all my hooks except my live-bait hooks, after having a creek hopper lodged in my back, all of ’em get crushed now. Didn’t effect my hookup ratio, either.

I hooked my friend on accident and she just gave me the look and I never talked about that time again because all she said was I know where you live and you better secure your room and let me just tell you I was standing it the lake shaking like I just got jump scared by someone and I almost pissed my pants.😭🤣
