Fished Huntington Beach State Park (AM) and Garden City Beach (PM) 200m north of first weir yesterday.

Jetty was dead quit for 90 minutes after sun up, 12mph NE wind. We moved back to the surf but apparently the Spanish were running late and showed up half an hour after we left.

Worked back down the beach fishing any small structure we could find, caught the Red on frozen cut mullet in a small rip, bait was in water less than five minutes. On the way back to the car talked to another guy, and our convo was interrupted by a 20” red attacking his cut mullet.

Heard blue bite was on fire at the garden city side of the inlet on rising tide while fishing the first weir. Nothing until about an hour before sunset and the blues came in hard on cut mullet as well. Wouldn’t touch shrimp but I had to cut down to a single rod action was so hot.

Time to prep for Hatteras!!!
