I’m still waiting on a SWBR-808C swimbait rod and a Delta Hybrid 696C I want to try for spinnerbaits, but here is the baitcasting lineup.

  1. Delta CBG-714’s for Chatterbaits/Squarebills/Buzzbaits, EFX ISR-705’s for Wiggle Warts/Rock Crawlers, EFX MBR-694’s for Topwater/Jerkbait, First Strike CBR-806’s for Deep Cranks, EFX MBR-768 for big soft swimbaits, (will be joined by a Black Widow SWBR-808 for glide baits), Black Widow MBR-734C for skipping, Silver Widow MBR-736C for Texas Rigs, Finesse Jigs, Wobbleheads, and Silver Widow SJR-736’s for Football Jigs and Carolina Rigs.

  2. Gah damn. I need to post a full review of mine but the 711 black widow DSR is by far my favorite rod. Everything about that rod is 10/10. Balances the best of any rod I own with a Shimano Stradic on it, weights absolutely nothing, casts a mile.

The black widow MBR 735 casting rod was kind of disappointing, the sensitivity is excellent but it’s heavy and the handle is large and feels clunky when casting. My 7’6” heavy Expride is significantly lighter and balances better.

The delta 723 MBR spinning is kinda the same. For a medium light it’s kind of heavy weight wise. Although not the best comparison since it’s more expensive, but I have a Megabass Orochii Enforcer which is a 7’4” medium and it’s lighter and less tip heavy than the delta. Also the first guide is slightly off center from the rest, not a big enough deal to send it back and wait 4 months for a replacement but just enough I can notice it.

I wanna try a silver widow, but I also have a couple Megabass destroyers on the way then I wanna snag a Loomis NRX+ to test one of those out. If I can snag another 40% off deal I’ll probably buy another couple Edge rods, but at full price I’m not sure. When I opened the 711 DSR first I was like oh man I think I found my forever rod company, maybe I have bad reels on the other 2 which makes them not feel great. I have a jdm scorpion 200 on the 735 and another stradic 3000 on the 723

  3. Single handedly causing the shipping issues… /s

I’m so glad I picked one up before the $100 price increase on the first strike series. First rod I got with the carbon grips that I admittedly thought was a gimmick.

If I wasn’t the kind of person to try out different brands for the hell of it I’d definitely end up like you.

You got any picked out for a BFS rig? I went with Old18 for my upcoming BFS setup, already got the buoyancy rod, just saving up for the reel now.
