I have two girls, Anne Bonny and Mary Read, in a 30l tank with lots of plants and multiple hiding spots etc. Water parameters are all fine- water’s a bit hard in my area but that’s not new.

I’ve had them about 3 months and they’ve been absolutely fine. They had definite territories within the tank they would take food to eat in, and would chase each other a little but no real aggression that I could see and it was very equal.
Anne has always gotten up later and gone to sleep earlier. But over the last few days she’s seemed sleepier, and this morning I convinced myself the worst had happened and had a poke around. She came out of the skull where she sleeps, but Mary immediately chased her around the tank and then Anne went right back into the skull.

I’m concerned that the dynamic between them could have changed? Mary has grown a little bigger since I got them and maybe now she’s more aggressive. Alternatively, is Anne not feeling well? I did put some new plants in this week- could that cause an upswing in territorial behaviour?
These are my first girls, I’ve always had boys on their own.
Any experience or advice would be greatly appreciated.
