It is AMAZING how far my sweet Trooper has come from when I got him. The first photo is the disgusting cup he was in and then the next two photos are Trooper in a hospital setup. I had him in a bowl because it looked like he could barely swim. Honestly I thought he wasn't going to make it.
Thankfully he improved within the next 24 hours with fresh clean water. The 4th photo is a week later.
Now it's been over a month and look at this guy! Trooper is flourishing in his own 8 gallon planted tank. He is so gentle during feeding. (I use tweezers to place frozen brine shrimp or bloodworms in the water and he is such a gentleman waiting at the surface or will delicately take it from the tweezers. I also have to soften some of the pellets I have because his jaw is malformed and can't get them in his mouth if they're dry)
While I was doing a water change yesterday he even sat in my hand for a bit. (My hand was in the watee while I used a airline hose to vacuum the substrate). I love him so much and am happy he survived. š
