Recently got the Penn Battle IV 4000 series rod and reel combo. Absolutely love it!
I'm trying to go salmon fishing this Friday. Gonna be throwing some buzz bombs or float/herring from shore.
The line I have on the reel is 40 lb braided line. I was looking up videos and people were recommending 10-20 lb main line for salmon fishing.
Would 40 lb braided line be too much for salmon fishing? Would this spook thr fishes away??

I have 30lb I use for catfishing. I hope I catch one but so far only like…6lbs or so
