Handcrafted rod, some homemade flies, and Southwest gold.

A day adventuring for gila trout and wild rainbows in my home state. Also tied some flashback hares ears which typically work well for me. My only regret of the day was not throwing any dries.

For anyone interested the rod is a Yellowfin Brookie edition 7’6” 3wt. I have been very happy with how it has performed on each outing. Matched with SA Creek line this thing is a blast on the water. It fit the niche I was looking for when fishing creeks and smaller streams perfectly. I would be doing a disservice if I didn’t say check one out or any of the other blanks if you are ever interested in a new rod with a bit of flair. Really pleased with the overall process and end result.
