On a pre-tied snelled hook, how do you use the loop at the top? What’s it for? This has been bugging me a long time, and I’ve failed miserably in Google searching to find the answer. I get plenty of tips on how to tie the loop, just nothing about what to do with the loop.

How do I say this, I would tie a swivel on the main line, braid, and pass the loop through the swivel. Then pass the hook through the loop. I’m tying a decent snell knot for circle hooks, I just buy leader on a spool. Not pre made.

The loop is where you attach the line coming from the rod. Be that tying it directly or to a snap swivel or whatever. You’re probably thinking too much on this one.
