Looking for some suggestions- just did a 3 day river trip (central texas), wide slow moving water, pretty cloudy water, and warm water temps. River has smallmouth and guadalupe bass, gar and cats.
Much of the day there isn't time for active fishing as we are trying to make miles, so I was trying to troll different lures behind as we paddled, but didn't have any luck. Tried topwater plopper, small swim tail chartreuse grub on a jig head, and a blue black mid water chatter bait for hours. Honestly the chatterbait began to feel like a float anchor after a while! But didn't get any action while trolling.
What do y'all suggest for dragging behind that might work better? Thanks!
