Freshly cycled tank. 20 standard. Only 7 ember tetras ATM. Yes fake plants, more concerned w learning how to keep fish alive then I’ll figure out plants later.

2/10. Get some beginner plants/mosses. They are honestly not that hard and will help keep your tank stable. Black, brown, or mixed gravel hides the detritus better than coloured gravel.

For the fake plants, I will say make sure they’re made of silicone or silk. Plastic fake plants can cause stress and injuries, some people reporting that their small schooling fish got caught on bushy plastic plants and died.
You’ll be best off removing any plastic plants immediately, and getting some silk/silicone fake plants and some driftwood, spiderwood or dragonstone.
Other than that, looks really good! Fake plants are fine for embers and other easy-going fish, as long as they’re made of safe materials.

Some floating plants would be easy to keep and at least would help with cleaning the water! You could also get pothos and only submerge the roots in the water and have it growing out of the tank
