Hey, I am going to be setting up a new 20 gal tank and I already have this Tetra heater. I think it will work for my purposes, just a fish and possibly a few shrimp in the tank, but I've never used this brand of aquarium heater. Will it be acceptable to heat my tank since I'm putting fish in it instead of a frog, newt, or turtle? Thank you!

I don’t think this heater is meant to be submerged,
It looks like you can’t adjust the thermostat on it, it would probably be fine, but you should get one that is adjustable and a thermometer just to be safe
I’ve heard of these things failing after some time and heating aquariums to 80+ degrees.
Also, I “think” the heating element is either exposed or has less padding around it. Those larger openings could allow for a fish to accidentally swim against it. To be safe I’d go with a different heater.
