Make sure you sing a tiny bit of tape when you first attach your braid to the spool to stop it slipping, if that’s part of the problem.

I have a way to unspool it! Attach a plastic water bottle to a power drill. If you put a 9/16 socket on the drill it will snug right into the mouth of the bottle and you don’t need to rig it. Tape the loose end of your line to the bottle, open the bail and pull the trigger. Takes a minutes but it will wind your line in an orderly way so you don’t have to trash it or worry about it getting tangled.
