I’m not sure what happened but she got dropsy and she declined so quickly that I made the decision to euthanize a day later. She was in a well-established 10 gallon planted tank.

She would’ve turned two in a few months so she was getting up there in age—especially for a pet store fish that probably doesn’t have the best genetics to begin with—but her death still shocked me as it happened so suddenly.

I’m not the religious type but she provided comfort to me and to my coworkers and that’s worth a lot. I’ll miss you Rachel, my aggressive, shrimp-killing, small-brained queen ✨💕
