Mid 1960s, Garcia Mitchell 406 with a Garcia Conolon 8ft rod. I use it for catfish, big carp. Only use 8lb line so the line breaks before the rod does. I store some rods in gun cases, cheaper and easier to find used in good condition.

The old Garcia Mitchell reels hold up very well. I have a couple I am fixing up as loaners.
