I was walking down the bank of the pond I was fishing and I saw the tail of an absolute monster Barra undulating. I threw my lure at it a little bit, but as it was right at the bank and in grass I couldn't swim my lure by it. I switched to a strong jighead I made, ripped off the soft lure, and put on a fresh riproy swimbait so that it had fresh scent on it to try to entice a bite. After jigging it in front of where I thought it's head should be I got bit but it missed the hook and returned to the bank not long after. I droped the lure in front of it's face for the second time and felt a bite. After giving it just a second to eat it I set the hook and had the biggest barramundi I've ever ever hooked (that actually counts) on the end of my line.
This Barra ended up being 2.8 kgs (6.2 lbs) and 64cm.
