I picked up an eskimo quick fish 4 non insulated shack at a yard sale over the weekend. It's nearly identical to my Subzero 4 man shack but it has more windows and the material quality feels a little bit better.

My question is it came with an extra piece of cloth that clips and velcros to the ceiling. Does anyone know what this is supposed to accomplish? My current pop up doesn't have this so I'm not sure the purpose.

  1. It’s called a “cold air barrier”, also reduces the amount of space you or your heater need to keep warm.

In a non insulated shack if you run a propane heater you’ll get condensation on the ceiling that if you fish long enough can start dropping on you and your stuff. I’d imagine it’s to prevent that. Nice feature actually.
